De kern van Sewans praktijk ligt in de verkenning van veerkracht en identiteit. Haar onderwerpen zijn vaak vrouwen die overtuiging, waardigheid en kracht belichamen. In plaats van hen als verre iconen af te beelden, toont zij hen als aanwezige, gegronde figuren. Dragers van stilte en kracht.
Elke compositie wordt zorgvuldig opgebouwd in lagen. Gebaar, context, symboliek en textuur worden bewust met elkaar verweven om een diepte te creëren die verder gaat dan het zichtbare beeld. Het resultaat is werk dat uitnodigt tot reflectie en tegelijk een heldere, eigentijdse kracht behoudt.
Haar kunst is niet decoratief. Zij is intentioneel.
Culturele Dialoog
Cultureel erfgoed wordt niet benaderd als nostalgie, maar als levend geheugen. Sewans werk slaat een brug tussen verleden en heden, waarbij historische en sacrale verhalen worden geëerd en vertaald naar een hedendaagse visuele taal.
